KNYSNA NEWS - ABC League, Knysna’s rapping sensation, recently launched their digital album.
As of Friday 23 March, the Emoji Flames Season 2 album is available on the digital market, consisting of seven tracks. Group members Cameron "Ghost" Ruiters, Benito "Publo" Samuels and Aliou "Ali" Bileye say their sound is above their years and like nothing locals have heard both on a local and a national front.
The trio met at Knysna Secondary School a few years ago where their friendship was cemented.
Samuels says they draw inspiration from international artists like Young Tyger, Kendrick Lamar and Youngster.
Their album was produced by T3 Music, a production company based in Knysna.
Thansanqa Tayler Ngwalase, producer and owner of T3 Music, said, “I started working with these guys three years ago, I saw their potential, their hunger and knew right there and then that these are the people that I want to work with – we share the same dream and, yeah, I haven’t looked back.”
The group, who say their producer is the hottest producer in town, identify their sound as trap/trap soul and to give us a taste of their latest offering they rendered their Do It For You single.
“Try us out, the album is lit!,” says Ruiters.
Biyele says the group will be promoting the album in and around the Garden Route area and that, “people should watch out, they’ve been missing out on good music".
He adds, "But don’t take my word for it, have a listen and make up your own mind.”
