PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Opera Angels, a duo of soprano and mezzo soprano, will be enchanting music lovers in Plettenberg Bay with a diverse programme, including an introduction to opera, an evening of cinema greats, and a taste of Italy.
Dr Lisa Engelbrecht, soprano and pianist, and Lindsay Thomson, mezzo soprano, will perform two shows on Friday and Saturday, 2 and 3 February at the St Peter's Anglican Church Hall in Plettenberg Bay, starting at 18:30.
The performances are in aid of PlettAid.
Opera Angels are a diverse and exciting duo based in South Africa who bring their audiences not only much-loved opera classics, but also their own stunning arrangements of iconic pieces through the ages.
Lisa is a renowned musician whose work has taken her all over the world. She combines being operatic vocal coach at the prestigious UCT Opera School with her performing career as a collaborative pianist and soprano.
Lisa has coached at Opera National du Rhin, Biritish Youth Opera and the Grange Festival, to name but a few.
She has recently been in Charlotte, North Carolina to coach young performers at the International Lyric Academy.Dr Lisa Engelbrecht
Lindsay has also worked in South Africa and Europe as part of opera companies and with her own classical crossover shows.

Following their debut performances on the Queen Victoria ship in early 2019, Opera Angels have been in demand across Cape Town and the rest of South Africa.
Lisa and Lindsay are both thrilled to return to Plett for the two new programmes, marking the start of a busy few months.
