KNYSNA NEWS - EDM artist and producer Eden Michelle is in Knysna and will perform at the Mr Gay World event on Saturday night, 26 May.

“It’s a privilege to be a part of this event, I love the Pink Loerie initiative and the promotion of love and acceptance,” she said, speaking to the Knysna-Plett Herald at the media conference for the Mr Gay World held at Villa Castollini at Brenton on Thursday, 24 May.

Eden Michelle describes her music as commercial EDM and she’s also trained on classic piano.

Originally from Johannesburg, during the past few years she has travelled the world and has just returned from a tour to the USA where she also performed at the largest music conference in the world – South by Southwest - the annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States.

Eden Michelle performed at the very first Mr Gay World pageant held in Knysna and said that that she couldn’t refuse when asked to come back perform again this year.

“It’s just amazing how festive and colourful Knysna gets because of this event. There’s people all over the world here and it’s so refreshing to come to Knysna and be part of something that is inclusive of everyone, that welcomes influencers to represent their countries with pride, regardless of their orientation”.

She said that her message to Knysna would be one of compassion and love.

“I think each of us have a story, and if we take the time to hear the next persons story, then we would understand their journey with respect and love. Through this, I feel, the world will be a much better place”.
