ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Iconic vocal powerhouse Tina Turner passed away at the age of 83 after a long illness at her home in Switzerland on Wednesday, 24 May. Tributes worldwide are pouring in as music and Hollywood stars pay homage to the singer and electric performer.
The dynamic trailblazer sold 200 million albums and won eight Grammy Awards during her career over several decades.
Shortly after her representatives announced the news of Tina Turner’s death, Coldplay kicked off the first of their four concerts in Barcelona, at the Olympic Stadium, with a cover version of Proud Mary.

Tina, who rose from the ashes with the hit songs What’s Love Got To Do With It, Private Dancer and The Best, credited her fellow musician friend, the late David Bowie, for getting back on her feet in a 2004 interview with Female First.
The official Twitter account for Bowie has posted a lengthy tribute, as well as some images of the two icons performing together.
