KNYSNA NEWS - A very successful and enjoyable Interclub Regatta was held at the Knysna Yacht Club over the weekend of 16 and 17 February.
This event is held annually and has proved to be very popular with both sailors and spectators. The weather was good and there was enough wind to stage 7 races over the two days.
53 boats competed, representing 6 sailing clubs from the Western & Eastern Cape regions.
The competitors were divided into 3 fleets, namely Seniors, Juniors and Catamarans. The winning club for the Juniors was George Lakes Yacht Club (GLYC), for the Seniors it was Redhouse Yacht Club (RYC), and for the Catamarans Knysna Yacht Club (KYC). The individual winners in each fleet were Junior Fleet - Conrad Holm (GLYC); Senior Fleet – Yorgi Divaris (KYC); Catamaran Fleet – Declan Nurse (KYC).
