KNYSNA NEWS - Two canoeists of the Knysna Yacht and Canoe Club, David Gorven (front) and Radie Dippenaar (back), came third in the grand masters category (60 - 65) during the recent Dusi Canoe Marathon.
The race was held from 17 to 19 February.
It was Gorven's 16th Dusi and Dippenaar's third. On the first day they successfully negotiated Mission Rapid.
In the first two legs of the race they had to carry their boats up to 10km a day over hills as long and steep as at Brenton on Lake.
They completed the race over 122km in 12:58:26, finishing 183rd overall. Almost 800 canoeists started the race this year.
