Bowls SA recently announced the names of the team members who will represent their country at the International Quadrangular in Windhoek, Namibia at the end of October
The two local players who received top honours are Elma Davis of the George Bowling Club and Arlene Bosse of the Knysna Bowling Club. Davis was included in the Gold Squad and elected for the Protea team Bosse was included in the Senior Masters side. It is a well-deserved honour for both these players who had been knocking on the door for higher honours for some time.
The Protea player of George Bowling Club Billy Radloff was unfortunately not reselected.
Davis is the wife of the president of Eden Bowls Trevor Davis and is a dedicated participant in the sport. Both she and Bosse have won various championships in the region and on national level in the past. Bosse also received the title of Eden District Champion of Champions in August.
