KNYSNA NEWS - Three dancers from the Sidwell Roman School of Ballet have qualified for the South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC) finals after strong performances at the recent SAIBC regional competition in Gqeberha.
Gabriella Jonsson, Christina Jonsson and Jaden Morton were all selected to compete at the national finals in Cape Town, which began on Monday 3 August and finished on Thursday, 6 August.
The trio also performed a group routine, "Entre' Act", which has been selected to advance to the national competition.
Adding to their success, SAIBC CEO Dirk Badenhorst, who adjudicated the regional event, personally invited the dancers to perform at the prestigious SAIBC Gala Performance in Pretoria at the end of July.
Morton also received one of the competition's major awards, earning a flight ticket to attend the SAIBC finals.
