KNYSNA NEWS - Paddlers and supporters, mark your calendars! The Harbour to Heads Lagoon Challenge returns to the Knysna Yacht Club on 13 July.
Part of the Knysna Oyster Festival, this iconic paddling event welcomes all canoe classes and features a scenic course through the Knysna Lagoon.
With guaranteed prize money and great lucky draws, it's perfect for racers, social paddlers, and spectators alike - promising thrilling action on the water and a festive atmosphere onshore.
Following a record-breaking entry at the 2024 race, which saw 89 boats and 123 paddlers competing, this year's event is set to raise the bar again.
The trophies, crafted from beautifully restored ships' lanterns that are more than 100 years old, will be awarded to the open and junior winners once more.

Courses:
- Open race - 12km or 24km. Entry: R300 per paddler (includes burger & chips)
- Junior race - (u.15), 4km. Entry: R100 per paddler (includes breakfast roll)
- There will be free T-shirts for junior entries and for the first 100 online open entries (limited late entries on the day).
The open race starts at 10:00, with registration opening at 08:00 and the race briefing held at 09:30. Juniors should enter on the morning between 08:00 and 08:30 for a 09:00 start.
