KNYSNA NEWS - Buco Knysna hardware and build ware, previously known as Pennypinchers, hosted their annual bowls day last week.
It was a big day for the 34 teams of four players each on Thursday 15 February as Buco customers and suppliers, playing by invitation, took to the field.
Buco store manager Michael Williams, explaining how the idea came about, said, “I saw the opportunity and thought the building industry could network together in a better way, it could also be a way to give back to our customers and suppliers and, of course, put our brand out there.”
Henk Meyer of Meyer Bros, who has been playing for four years, said, “The vibe is nice as there are no social platforms to meet other contractors.
"There are so many guys who have picked up work and deals from this playing ground. It is also nice to see everyone relaxed and not rushing to a project.”
“It was another great day out on the greens and from the feedback I received thus far, it looks like everybody had a good time,” said one of the organisers, Sebastian Olifant.
