The golf day took place on Sunday, September 28, at the Knysna Golf Club. In the Men's competition, the winners were Kerneels Julies, Jacques du Toit, Samuel Kampher and Flippie Uys. The ladies who played the most golf on the day were Marisa Raffinetti, Hilda Hofmeyr, Vanessa Cloete and Di Peters.
On behalf of the organising committee, Marie du Plessis said, "We not only had sponsorships for each and every hole, we also had a whole lot of wonderful prizes to offer the winning players in various categories and we also sold raffle tickets to raise funds at R10 a ticket.
"The proceeds went straight to the Knysna NSRI Station, in support of their priceless work in saving lives in our often turbulent waters. We wish to thank each member of our giving Knysna community for their willingness to help, either through participation, donations, sponsorship or buying raffle tickets. As the NSRI is not aided by government funds, every rand helps and is immensely appreciated."
According to Du Plessis next year's golf day is already being planned. "With the continued willingness of people to help this cause, it is bound to be another success."
