KNYSNA NEWS - Local cricket star Tristan Stubbs has been named in both the T20I and ODI squads for the Proteas, ahead of their upcoming series against Australia.
The two squads for the Baggie Greens' tour to South Africa were named on Monday 15 August, and Stubbs was named in both for only the second time. He has already played 13 T20 Internationals for the Proteas, but only one One Day International (ODI) so far.
His selection for the squads comes off the back of his good form in Sri Lanka for the SA "A" side against Sri Lanka in June.
During that tour, Stubbs shone with the bat, scoring two half-centuries in the two List A (one-day) matches to kick off the tour.
He followed it up with a duck in the first four-day match, but turned it all around in the second and final four-day game when he scored his third overall First Class century in the form of a 181-ball innings of 117.
In the announcement of the squads, CSA noted that Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada are all rested for the three-match T20I series, but will return for the five-match Betway ODI series.

Joining Stubbs is young sensation Dewald Brevis who was also named in both squads, earning his first Proteas call-ups.
Other newcomers are Titans players Gerald Coetzee - who has already played ODIs, but is yet to make his T20I debut - and Donovan Ferreira (T20I squad) as well as Warriors batter Matthew Breetzke (T20I squad).
