The objective of Village Cricket is to make a contribution to entrenching old-fashioned and traditional values of cricket, played in an impeccable sporting spirit. From Sedgefield there were the Strikers. Those from the Knysna region are the Wanderers, cricketers from the Plettenberg Bay call themselves the Dolphins and the Ramblers are from Knysna and surrounds.
The ethos of Village Cricket is that players of all standards and all ages participate, often providing situations where father and son play alongside each other.
