GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - In a major career boost, Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers all-rounder Annerie Dercksen has been selected for the Proteas Women contracted squad for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
The 23-year-old reigning ICC Emerging Women's Cricketer of the Year was on the list for the Proteas Women squad confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday 17 March.
She replaces the World Sports Betting Western Province duo of Lara Goodall and Delmi Tucker on the 15-player list.
Led by captain Laura
Wolvaardt and head coach Mandla Mashimbyi, the Proteas Women are gearing up for a significant year ahead.
Their preparations will be focused on the ultimate prize in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, set to take place in India later this year.
"We are proud to announce the Proteas Women's contracted squad for the 2025/26 season, a group that embodies the depth, talent, and potential of women's cricket in South Africa," said CSA Executive: National Teams and High Performance, Enoch Nkwe.
"It's also a momentous occasion for Annerie Dercksen, whose performances have been impressive as she cemented her spot in the team, earning a well-deserved first national contract."
