PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Many records fell during the intertown athletics meeting held at Wittedrift Primary School on Saturday 21 February.
The meeting was part of the KPSSS (Knys-na, Plett, Sedgefield School Sport) annual athletics extravaganza with athletes from U7 to U13 participating.
More than 500 top athletes from Plett, Crags, Kranshoek, Harkerville, Knysna, Rheenendal and Sedgefield participated.
Those selected will represent the region in the Eden tournament, which will be held in Oudtshoorn on Saturday 28 February.
All-rounder
Knysna Primary School athlete Jade Galant shone again with first places in high jump, long jump and hurdles - and a second in the 100m sprint race "after having a bad start", she said.
Jade, an all-rounder, who made the SA Schools team last year, said she will again do her best this year.
Another Knysna Primary School athlete, Salomo du Plessis (9), broke the U9 high jump record with a jump of 1,21m, beating the old mark of 1,18m.
