KNYSNA NEWS - South African outdoor footwear, apparel, and accessories retailer Hi-Tec has once again come on board as the official footwear and apparel sponsor of the Knysna Forest Marathon.
Taking place on Saturday 8 July, the marathon offers several unique highlights that cannot be found in any other trail in the world.
In its 38th edition, the race promises to be an exhilarating and memorable experience for all participants, with different distances available to athletes of different fitness levels - from half-marathon 21,1km to the full marathon of 42,2km.
True to its name, most of the route runs deep into the Knysna Forest with breathtaking views over the estuary and even the iconic Knysna Heads, a great distraction to help get participants through those last few kilometres.
"We're excited to be part of this popular race again," says Louise White, integrated brand manager at Hi-Tec.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for us as we support healthy living through sports. Being part of such events also allows us to engage with our customers and we can't wait to see everyone out there, having fun and pushing their limits."
Participants will have the opportunity to purchase Hi-Tec products at registration and on the day of the race. The Knysna Forest Marathon is a fun, family event with lots of activities for the whole family, including a beer tent and oyster stand for the adults.
There will also be lots of entertainment around the town as part of the Knysna Oyster Festival festivities.
Entries have already closed for this year, but last year, there were 1 002 athletes running the full marathon and 5 496 participants in the half-marathon, running up an incredible total of 6 498 entries.
This year promises to be no different, and runners from all over the country will flock to Knysna in early July to tackle the challenge of the 38th Knysna Forest Marathon.
