PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Four Greenwood Bay College boys have won the Rising Stars school tennis competition, making them the best in the Eden district.
The Rising Stars tournament is one of the fastest-growing school tennis tournaments in the country, with over 800 schools and 4 000 players having competed in the past, representing 41 districts across nine provinces.
There were 12 boys' schools taking part in the Eden competition and GBC was crowned the winner, beating Hartenbos in the final on Friday 5 September.
First time
Their feat means they now qualify for the next round of the competition, where teams from the Western Cape will compete in Cape Town on 11 October.
"It's the first time GBC has won the tournament," said Luke Olsen, GBC's tennis coach.
