NATIONAL NEWS - Police say they have arrested Sthembiso Shezi (46) for being in possession of cannabis and allegedly selling biscuits laced with the drug to school children.
Last Wednesday, members of Fezile Dabi trio task team led by Sergeant Sandile Sinxezi, followed up on reports from a concerned community member.
He informed them that several children were admitted to a local clinic after being sold biscuits commonly known as space cakes (slang for edible cannabis infused in any type of baked goods).
Investigations led police to a 46-year-old man at a shack in Deneysville in the Free State. The man was identified as Shezi, who is originally from Bergville in KwaZulu-Natal.
He was allegedly found in possession of 301 Ziplock bags containing cannabis with an estimated street value of R20 000. An undisclosed amount of cash was also confiscated.
