NATIONAL NEWS - December has been Cape Town International Airport's busiest month on record.

The airport saw more than 700,000 arriving and departing passengers move through the airport - an increase of 14 percent compared to December 2014.

Airports Company South Africa's Deidre Davids says they've reached an important milestone.

“For the year, domestic and international passenger numbers both grew by nine percent.
 
Closing off the year on 9.4 million passengers is an important milestone, not only for the airport but also for our region which is so reliant on tourism.”
