KNYSNA NEWS - There was great excitement at Loerie Park recently when the unemployed who meet for their morning sandwiches and fruit, were in for a wonderful surprise. The Vineyard Church team arrived with tinned food and large bags of maize meal.
What a buzz – one granny bearhugged a support worker after being given her food parcels. Many of these vulnerable people had tears in their eyes. Thank you to the Vineyard Church for ensuring that 40 families have full tummies!
Clare Bosman, who runs the Loerie Park feeding scheme, said there are so many heartbreaking personal stories among these people who live on the breadline.
We believe no one should go hungry, and it only costs R350 per day to feed 50 job seekers.
“I am proud to say that a fair number of job seekers have found work in the past six months. They are a testament to those who persevere, and to the community for giving them a chance to get back into the job market.
