Update: Rescue mission to save beached whale
Local authorities are waiting for the tide to come in, in the hope of getting a beached humpback whale back to sea.
GREAT BRAK RIVER NEWS & VIDEO - Local authorities are waiting for the tide to come in, in the hope of getting a beached humpback whale back to sea.

At around 11:30, the NSRI team arrived at the sight in Great Brak where a Humpback whale has beached earlier today.

The whale is reportedly exhausted from her struggles to get back to sea. However, as the tide is coming in, local veterinary surgeon, dr Neil Moelich advised earlier that a rescue mission is warranted.

The sea conditions are less than favourable, with strong currents making the effort all the more difficult.
