KNYSNA NEWS – While they are already well on their way up the hill today, competitors in Classic Car Friday yesterday got the 13th annual Simola Hillclimb underway with scrutineering and the parade down Waterfront Drive.
The Thursday scrutineering and Classic Car Parade form the first part of the Hillclimb every year and provide the perfect springboard to get the public excited for the thrilling weekend of racing that lies ahead.
Classic Car Friday competitors were able to bring their vehicles down to Hedge Street yesterday, 4 May, to ensure they meet all the criteria to compete in the racing today.

There was also the new addition of the fanfare on the Knysna High School sports fields, which continued until late afternoon.
The parade was however the highlight of the day, beginning just before 15:00, with the public feasting their eyes on the cars as they muscled their way down Waterfront Drive. Jason Webb made his return in his Monster Energy Mustang drift car, providing an exciting element to the parade. Classic Car Friday started on Simola Hill this morning and the three practice sessions have already been concluded.
