GEORGE NEWS - SWD Cricket has confirmed the appointment of Bianca Figeland as the head hub coach of the Rosemoor Hub in George from 1 January 2026.
The Rosemoore Hub is one of four cricket hubs in the SWD. The objective of the hub program is to create a focal point for identifying and developing cricket talent, as well as schools’ cricket programs in communities that lack adequate cricket facilities.
The hubs partnered with new and emerging schools in the vicinity, drawing talent from these schools, providing regular coaching and scheduling matches. There are currently 58 hubs in the country, of which four are based in the SWD.
Figeland, who was the assistant hub coach at Rosemoor for the past eleven years, replaces Angus Roelfse, who has been appointed as the KFC Mini Cricket Coordinator at SWD Cricket. She is a former provincial cricketer and is currently enrolled at the Cricket South Africa Level III coaching course.
Gary Moos, the Cricket Services Manager at SWD Cricket, has congratulated Figeland on her milestone appointment, becoming the second female head hub coach in the country. “Our hub program is one of the most successful programs in the country and this position is a new challenge for Bianca, which is well deserved,” he concluded.
