Update
KNYSNA NEWS - The court case against the murder-accused Mervyn Bock (40), which had been scheduled to continue on Thursday 7 May, was postponed to 22 May due to the severe weather conditions, as well as pending further investigations.
Bock is accused of the murder of his former girlfriend, Velia Strydom, whose decomposed body was discovered near the Red Bridge in Knysna on 12 December 2025.
According to Warrick Langisa, Strydom’s uncle, the family was informed on the day of the hearing that no prisoners would be transported to and from the Knysna Magistrate’s Court.
“We were told to wait while the court roll was being reviewed. The prosecutor then came to tell us that the case would continue on 22 May,” explained Langisa.
At his previous court appearance on 31 March, Bock was denied bail. He remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
