PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A Green Valley man in his early twenties collapsed and died early today, Thursday 12 March, on the town square in Wittedrift.
According to Wittedrift resident Lynn Kapp, the young man had been warned not to walk in the heat as he reportedly suffered from TB.
The young man, who lived in the nearby Green Valley community, was with his mother and sister when he collapsed.
A police vehicle and a security official were on the scene within minutes.
The five-month-pregnant mother, who was put in the ambulance while her son was still outside, could be heard screaming in anguish when she was informed of his death.
Kapp said Venter was walking towards the shops in the town square when he started vomiting blood and collapsed just off Main Road.
“I saw what I saw and knew it wasn’t good,” said Kapp, who has a nursing background.
According to information currently available, about six people had witnessed the tragedy.
