KNYSNA NEWS - Their Van toeka tot nou concert landed Knysna Play School a spot to participate in the Kleuterzone National Competition between preschools in the Western Cape.
The competition takes place in 7 September in Cape Town, five of the play school’s acts are going through to the finals and are amongst the 13 that were chosen.
The school tucked in Trotter Street is owned by sisters Lizelle Bashforf and Tanya Bartie, the sisters say this is not just a concert but good exposure, for the school as well as for the town.

They entered the competition in May this year and received the news on 15 August that they made it through to the finals.
Bartie, who is determined to have every single one of the learners attend the competition said, “This is an opportunity to show all the love, dedication, and hard work we put into educating and caring for every single learner in our school.”
Adding to this she said having the learners participate in the competition in Cape Town will be a great adventure and will boost their self-confidence, “and show them that they get rewarded for all the hard work they put in.”
The school is however struggling to get sponsors to fund the learners who can’t afford the trip, if you’re in a position to assist, please contact Tanya Bartie on 082 578 8286.
