KNYSNA NEWS & VIDEOS - As flooding persists in different areas in Hornlee and surrounds, more issues arise pertaining to blocked sewage pipes and drains.
A number of disgruntled residents from Hornlee and surrounds circulated photographs, including videos of flooding, on a community WhatsApp group on Tuesday, 9 April.
According to Jacob Williams, a resident of Nekkies West, Kaalkol, his house has been flooded and furniture damaged. Williams also said that this issue has been ongoing for the last ten years and that the Knysna Municipality is aware of his situation.
Essential services such as the Hornlee Clinic are also affected by the heavy downpour. A video of the clinic flooding was also circulated in the WhatsApp group.
On this group, community members highlighted their grievances regarding blocked drains and pipes, also requesting assistance from councilors and the fire department for sand bags.
