KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna Yacht Club held a lively fundraiser at its restaurant last week, raising support for the local sailing school. Around 100 locals attended the event which combined fun, food and friendly competition.
Guests were challenged in an exciting quiz, with each table tested on a variety of topics ranging from music and art to history and film.
After the quiz, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous meal of burgers and chips before the auction began.
Bidding was enthusiastic, with guests showing strong support for the sailing school's programmes and activities.
Club representative Heather Grobler expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended, pointing out that events like these not only provide vital funding, but also strengthen community ties.
"This fundraiser was a fantastic way to bring people together and support our local sailors. The energy in the room was incredible, and the generosity of our community will make a real difference to the sailing school," she said.
The event also illustrated the club's commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting sailing as a sport in the Garden Route region, ensuring that more children have the opportunity to learn and grow through the school's programmes.
