KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
THEFT OUT M.V. - QUEEN ST (Thurs 28 June @ 07h23) – Client reported that their vehicle was broken into during the night. Bags of clothing were reported missing. Case was opened with SAPS.
COMMON ROBBERY - HEDGE ST (Thurs 28 June @ 11h32) – Client telephoned requesting assistance after a pedestrian was attacked outside their premises and suspect tried to steal the young ladies handbag. Officers responded and suspect was apprehended a short distance away. Case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - NEWTON ST (Thurs 28 June @ 13h47) - Client phoned our control room to report that someone just tried to break in but ran off when the tenant disturbed them. Nothing stolen.
THEFT - TROTTER ST (Fri 29 June @ 12h26) - Stall holder reported that 3 pairs of sunglasses were shoplifted. No information available on possible suspects or time of theft. No case was opened.
THEFT OUT M.V. - WATERFRONT DR (Fri 29 June @ 21h09) - Motorist reported that a cellphone, jacket and laptop were stolen from his open vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing 4 youths running from the area. Officers searched lower town, no arrests made.
COMMON ROBBERY - GRAHAM ST (Sat 30 June @ 01h38) - Client activated the panic alarm after a guest was assaulted and robbed of a cellphone. Officers responded and 2 suspects were apprehended. Cellphone was recovered. Case was opened and suspects were handed over to SAPS.
THEFT - NEW ST (Sat 30 June @ 19h40) - Business owner reported that premises keys were stolen out of the front door. No suspect description was available. Locksmiths were notified and assisted.
BURGLARY - GRAY ST (Sun 1 July @ 17h44) - Officer responded to alarm signal and reported suspect was still inside the premises. Additional vehicles were dispatched and perimeter secured. Suspect was found inside the shop with approximately R3000 worth of goods on him. Case was opened and suspect was charged.
THEFT FROM M.V. - GRAY ST (Mon 2 July @ 04h15) - Allsound Officer reported that 4 hubcaps were missing from a vehicle. Vehicle belonged to guests staying at hotel. No case was opened.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - QUEEN ST (Tues 3 July @ 20h24) - Client activated the panic alarm after suspect broke into a guests vehicle. Guest gave chase and apprehended the suspect (the same suspect from Business Burglary 2 days before). Suspect was detained and handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.
THEFT - VOORTREKKER ST (Wed 4 July @ 13h07) - Client phoned to report that suspects were busy stealing stuff on the neighbouring property. Suspect were apprehended and found in possession of door handles and other scrap metal. SAPS were notified. After no response, suspects were released. No case was opened.
SHOPLIFTING - LONG ST (Wed 4 July @ 15h02) - Officer responded to panic alarm. Keyholder reported that a man shoplifted, but when confronted he dropped the goods and left. No arrests made.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - SUNVALLEY DR (Fri 29 June @ 03h50) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found garage door open. Owner reported seeing someone running from garage. Nothing visibly missing.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
THEFT - MEEU ST (Fri 29 June @ 12h00) – Gentleman stopped our Response Officer to report that 2 men known to him, had stolen a welder and tools from the premises. SAPS were notified and a case was opened for further investigation.
BURGLARY - KHAYALETHU (Fri 29 June @ 22h02) - Client reported a break-in. Entry was gained via window but nothing visibly missing from property. No case opened.
BURGLARY - SANDPIPER ST (Sun 1 July @ 12h58) - Officer responded to alarm and found window broken. Keyholder was notified and confirmed nothing missing. No case was opened.
WELBEDACHT / EASTFORDS
THEFT - N2 NEAR WELBEDACHT (Thurs 28 June @ 11h20) - Client reported that door handles and other fixtures were stolen the previous day. CCTV footage identified the suspect. Suspect was seen in the area and Allsound Officers responded. Suspect was apprehended and handed over to SAPS.
BUFFALO BAY
THEFT - GRYSBOK ST (Thurs, 28 June @ 22h24) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found water pouring out pipes. Tap was stolen off wall. Area was searched but no suspects found. Water was turned off. No case was opened.
