Update
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - For the first time, Plettenberg Bay residents will be able to do their driver's licence testing in their own backyard instead of travelling to Knysna or elsewhere to do so.On Thursday 28 March, Bitou mayor peter Lobese opened the town's first driver's licence testing/traffic yard, situated just off the N2 in Ladywood.
"The significance of the opening is that all Bitou residents and everyone in possession of a learner driver's licence for all codes, will now be able to take their driver's licence test in Plettenberg Bay," said Bitou municipal spokesman Manfred van Rooyen.
Over the past few months Bitou residents had already been able to complete their learner driver's licence tests at the test centre at the town's main library in New Horizons.
"Bitou owes a debt of gratitude to everyone who has been involved since the development of the idea… We salute them for their vision."
