KNYSNA NEWS - Ensuring that residents can enjoy public spaces without health hazards such as damaged ablution facilities and unpleasant odours, Knysna Municipality has announced the successful repair and upgrade of the vandalised Cathy's Park ablution facilities.

According to the municipality, repairs have now been completed following recent acts of vandalism, and the facilities are again fit for public use. The upgraded ablution block is regarded as an important community asset, providing residents and visitors with access to safe, clean and functional public amenities.

The municipality said vandalism of public infrastructure places an unnecessary financial burden on the local authority, diverting resources that could otherwise be used to improve and expand essential services across the municipality.

Municipal officials urged the public to help protect community facilities by reporting incidents of vandalism and working together to help preserve public infrastructure for the benefit of the wider community.

"Protecting these facilities is a shared responsibility," the municipality said.
