KNYSNA NEWS - Regardless of your fitness level, the first-ever Knysna Santa Dash promises a ho- ho- whole lot of fun for everyone this Christmas.
The Knysna Santa Dash is inspired by similar events around the world over the Christmas season.
The idea is simple - participants must dress up in their most colourful Christmas-themed clobber and walk, run, dance, or skip their way around a 5km course. A shorter 1km Reindeer Dash for youngsters is also available.
To add to the fun, each entrant will receive a complimentary set of jingle bells to attach to their shoes, the scenic route around the course at Knysna Golf Club will include festive water points and "cheerleaders", and all finishers will take home their own Santa hat.
Post-race an evening of music, dinner and drinks is planned at the golf club. And to top the night off, Santa Claus himself is all set to make a surprise appearance.
The inaugural Knysna Santa Dash will take place on Thursday 23 December and a percentage of all ticket sales will be donated to this year's good "claus" - Growing Upwards, a local community group creating sustainable food gardens in vulnerable communities and schools.
Tickets are limited.
