KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna United Rugby Club capped off a tough yet immensely rewarding season with a spirited prize-giving ceremony at the Loerie Park clubhouse on Saturday 6 December.
Players, supporters and club officials gathered to celebrate determination, progress and a defining new chapter in the club's history.
Despite a season marked by physical battles and narrow margins, the team's resilience shone through.
That spirit was matched by monumental off-field news: the club has secured its largest sponsorship to date. Multisure Corporation has officially signed on as Knysna United's headline sponsor for 2026, aiming to boost the club's competitiveness and pave a path toward premier-league participation.
With this partnership, the club steps into a new era under its updated banner - Knysna United Multisure Rugby Club. As the club proclaimed during the ceremony, "New beginnings. Greener fields".
The evening also celebrated standout individual perfor-mances. Bradley Saptou dominated the awards, earning Player of the Year, A-Team Player of the Year, Top Points Scorer, Joint Top Try Scorer, and Fans' Player of the Year.
Eurecian Daniels was honoured as Sportsman of the Year, while Jumeal Arends received both Players' Player of the Year and B-Team Backline Player of the Year. Shaun Saunders secured Most Improved Player, and other key honours went to Chesslyn Draai, O'neal Nankoo, Dehan Maritz, and Antonio Solomons.
Special achievements high-lighted broader club success, including the 2nd team winning the SWD 1st Division A and provincial selections across SWD U21, SWD Touch Rugby and SWD U12.
