WILDERNESS NEWS - The SPCA calls on all dog lovers to bring their furry friends for a walk on the Wilderness beach in the Wilderness Woof-athon this Saturday, 20 October.
The once-a-year exclusive, authorised walk on the exquisite Wilderness beachfront marks the 8th anniversary of the popular fundraiser.
The beach walk starts at 09:00. Enjoy, but make sure you are back at the Wilderness Green by 09:45 for the amazing Border Collie agility display by the Garden Route Agility Club, followed by some real show-off tricks.
The wild, hilarious fun of the sausage & spoon races will start at 10:30.
At 11:00 the SPCA Fun Dog Show will commence, with five categories:
- Cutest;
- Best condition;
- Mr or Miss Personality;
- "My Dog Can" for dogs who can do something on instruction;
- Adoption dogs and the fabulous owners who saved them.
Love books? Pick all you want from the SPCA Charity Shop stall - it's the SPCA's amazing bargain book sale.
Get your bacon roll for just R25, and while you're there, stock up for a Saturday night snack. Home-made cinnamon & sugar pancakes will be available at just R20 for three! Fancy a cuppa? SPCA volunteers have been busy making scrumptious cakes and muffins to go with your tea or coffee in the SPCA's refreshment tent.
Registration opens at 08:00 at only R25 per dog, R20 per human and R10 for children under 12 years.
