KNYSNA NEWS - The pedestrian teenager who died in an accident on the N2 on Youth Day has been identified as Asithandile Benn.
The 17-year-old girl, who was hit by a white VW Jetta on Sunday 16 June at about 23:50 on the N2 in Knysna near Bokmakierie Street, succumbed to the multiple injuries she had sustained in the accident.
A 28-year-old Knysna man was subsequently arrested and is now facing multiple charges including culpable homicide, driving under the influence and driving without a licence.
According to Knysna police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, the man is scheduled to appear in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on 19 September.
