KNYSNA NEWS - Tributes have been pouring in on social media for Hornlee local, Byron Alie, who was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning, 29 February.
Alie (30) was stabbed to death during what has been described by police as an “altercation” between himself, another victim, and three suspects who were subsequently arrested.
During the attack, which occurred at about 07:00 in Swarthout Street, Alie sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The second victim of the attack also sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital where he underwent surgery.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, the second victim was coherent and responsive on Saturday following surgery.
Alie was a beloved member of the community, and tributes have poured in on Facebook since his passing.

The three suspects who have been arrested in connection with Alie’s murder are to appear on court today (Monday 2 March) on a charge of murder.
