SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Buy a trendy tope and wear it on Sunflower Day, Friday 15 September, to show that you want to make a difference to patients who need a blood stem cell transplant. "Tope" stands for "tube of hope", a symbol of hope for the future.
Last year over 155 000 topes were sold and 1 488 new blood stem cell donors recruited onto the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR).
The organisers hope to surpass last year's record with your help, aiming to sell 200 000 topes. All funds raised go to recruiting blood stem cell donors.
The tope is affordable and can be used by all members of the family.
It can be worn as a headband, mask, scarf, cap or an arm band - and you're not restricted to wearing it on 15 September either.
Long-standing sponsor Pick n Pay has produced an appealing, trendy tope in vibrant colours that is expected to fly off the shelves.
Be sure to buy your tope soon, either at your nearest Pick n Pay or online at www.zando.co.za.
