KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Montessori School is in for a treat once again, as Wilderness Jazz group, Sugar & Spice will be performing live at the school for a Jazz concert with 11-year-old Jodi-Anne Michael, a pupil at the school as their guest.
She recently earned the title of Best Vocalist at the Young Musicians Competition in June.
They will take you on a sentimental, foot-tapping journey with classic Standard, Swing and Latin Jazz dating back to the Nat King Cole, Cole Porter era and some of the favourite Antonio Carlos Jobim melodies.
The concert will take place on Friday, 28 September at 8pm in the Knysna Montessori Amphitheatre.
This Jazz group from George and Wilderness consists of Cecily Pepler (vocals), Rico Muller (piano & vocals), Soppie Thyse (bass & vocals) and Kevi Levin (drums).
Lead Pepler who also manages the group says they want to share their music with a wider audience of Jazz lovers in the Knysna area.
“Our love for this genre gives us a platform to revisit the beautiful music written so long ago, music that is timeless and familiar, and it is exciting to witness someone so young having the same appreciation” added Pepler.
Refreshments will be available at the Friday Night Market.
Ticket prices are R120 for adults and R60 for scholars under 12 years. Booking early is advised by calling Cecily on 082 768 2005. To find out more about the group please visit their Facebook page: Cecily Pepler with Sugar & Spice.
