PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Following Plett's recent moment in the limelight when film crews descended on the coastal holiday town to film popular shows, a new website has been launched to ensure the town remains a firm favourite in the entertainment world.
Plett Film, an organisation that offers logistics services to visiting film crews, has just launched the website where film crews can secure not only properties and locations for filming, but also accommodation and various other services.
The Plett Film team said that over the years they had established stunning film location villas and properties for this purpose.
"We understand the dynamics of film and the requirements for location properties. Our expertise in sourcing the perfect property, as well as legal requirements and operation logistics, ensure a professional production. We have a vast knowledge of the area and unique shoot locations. Plett Film has sourced villa location properties for productions in other areas of South Africa as well," the team said.
Some of the productions that were filmed in Plett are Black Sails, Tomb Raider and Bachelor Finland. Plett Tourism chief executive Patty Butterworth said Plettenberg Bay and the surrounding area had become a popular location for film shoots due to the natural beauty and diversity of the area.
"From forests to mountains, rivers, ocean, luxury villas and adventure attractions, it's hard to beat," she said.
This comes after the popular Afrikaans soapie 7de Laan filmed a few episodes on Stanley Island and surrounding areas. The episodes aired earlier this month.
