KNYSNA NEWS - TS Knysna held its induction ceremony for this year's cohort of young inductees at the Sea Cadets base on Saturday 6 May.
The ceremony kicked off with the young cadets giving an impressive performance of their precision drills for the audience of proud parents.
The parade was conducted by the parade commander, Midshipman Eastern Hennies, and the parade instructor was Staff Instructor Marquin van Rooyen.
The audience was also delighted by a bagpipe performance by the Knysna and District Pipe Band. The ceremony was a celebration of TS Knysna's commitment to youth development.
The new sea cadets were called forward to collect their berets, sign the Code of Conduct and be allocated to their divisions.
The inspections of the divisions were conducted by Jim Parker of Geo Parkes & Sons, who has been involved with the Knysna TS Sea Cadets for more than two decades. The Parkes family has a longstanding and proud tradition of cooperation with TS Knysna.
