PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - In a drug bust last Tuesday, 25 January, police in Plettenberg Bay arrested a man after he was found to be in possession of more than 1 000 tablets of Mandrax.
"At about 11:20 on Tuesday, Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) members responded to information about an Opel Corsa with a consignment of drugs on board," said Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies.
“The members later spotted the vehicle parked at a shopping centre at Beacon Way. They found the driver of the vehicle in the vicinity and proceeded with a search of his vehicle. During the search members found 1 111 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R67 000 under the driver seat."
The CPU members confiscated the consignment and arrested the 43-year-old suspect on a charge of dealing in drugs.
