Update
KNYSNA NEWS - Despite initial reports received by KPH stating that the body of a man found in Khayalethu yesterday was found in a dam, it was instead found in the municipal Khayalethu water reservoir.
Although officials, including police and Knysna Municipality have called the structure a dam, Knysna-Plett Herald would like to clarify that the body of water in which the body was found on Sunday 26 November was a water reservoir.
The reservoir stores and supplies potable water to the eDameni, Dam-Se-Bos, Khayalethu, Nekkies, Oupad, Hlalani, Kalkol and 7deLaan areas.
Knysna Municipality has since confirmed in media statements that it is flushing water out of the reservoir in order to clean it after the body was removed.
"During this period, as a precautionary measure, water trucks will be deployed to guarantee a continuous water supply to all affected residents," the municipality said in a media statement.
