KNYSNA NEWSFLASH - Motorists are advised to avoid the entrance road to Keurhoek in  Rheenendal.

The Knysna SAPS has responded to protest action in Rheenendal, after which the Rheenendal Road (entrance to Keurhoek) was closed to the public.

Public Order Police (POPS) are currently on their way.  

"A meeting is scheduled with Provincial Integrated Human Settlements, Greater Knysna's Ward Councillors and  the Knysna Municipal officials to address the planning and implementation of the Sedgefield, Karatara and Rheenendal housing projects," explained Ward 5 Councillor and Knysna Executive Mayor, Eleanore Bouw-Spies.

It must be noted that this meeting has been scheduled prior to the protest action.

“I am aware of the protests and would like to address the matter with positive action soonest."

Bouw-Spies concluded by saying that until all parties have discussed the issue at hand, she was unable to comment further.
