SEDGEFIELD NEWS - The two men behind the robbery and murder of 76-year-old Sedgefield resident Peter Henson have been sentenced to 30 years and life imprisonment respectively.
John McCombi (45) and Henry Molligan (29) appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court this morning, Thursday 16 September, where they were handed lengthy sentences for the robbery and murder of Henson exactly two years ago.
McCombi and Molligan initially learned their fates during a court appearance on Monday 13 September when Judge RCA Henney deemed them to be guilty on two of the three charges laid against them – robbery with aggravating circumstances and murder.
Accused 1, John McCombi:
• Robbery with aggravating circumstances – 15 years imprisonment
• Murder – Life imprisonment
The two sentences will run concurrently.
Accused 2, Henry Molligan:
• Robbery with aggravating circumstances – 10 years imprisonment
• Murder – 25 years imprisonment of which 5 years are suspended
He was effectively sentenced to 30 years imprisonment.
The incident took place exactly two years ago today, when they broke into Henson's home in Paul Kruger Street, Sedgefield, on 16 September 2019 before they robbed and murdered him.

They made away with eight items including a DStv decoder, Henson's diary, and a silver lighter. The duo was arrested later that same night at McCombi's residence in Geelblom Street in Smutsville.
The incident took place exactly two years ago today, when they broke into Henson's home in Paul Kruger Street, Sedgefield, on 16 September 2019 before they robbed and murdered him.
