KNYSNA NEWS - The tourism offices in Sedgefield recently got a makeover as part of a community initiative, and the results speak for themselves.
According to one of the residents involved, the community decided to give back to manager Belinda Hobson and her staff who work tirelessly to promote Sedgefield.
A refurbishment was not possible through the usual channels, said the resident, so the community planned a secret weekend makeover.
Volunteers stripped the offices after closing on Friday 18 August and then began painting and building. The colour was changed, the layout redesigned and three coats of paint applied over the next 24 hours.
"After some much-needed rest Sunday morning, the team returned to do the final finishes. Tourism Sedgefield now has a waiting area, reception, boardroom and a respectable office space.
"Needless to say, though rare, Belinda was speechless," the resident said.
A bunch of locals decided to give the Sedgefield Tourism office a makeover behind manager Belinda Hobson's back recently.
Hobson was blown away. "These incredible people worked the whole weekend to surprise me with a brand new, beautiful, incredible, amazing tourism office! Definitely the nicest thing I have ever experienced.
"The day they showed me my new office was one of the best days of my life. I love them all."
