KNYSNA NEWS – On Friday 7 May, former SA athlete and Mrs SA finalist Amanda Morris launched the women's event "Imagine The Best You" in Knysna. It is a personal development, health and wellness programme aimed at emotional, mental and physical well-being.
Morris has established credibility throughout the country as a holistic wellness and behavioural specialist who enables individuals to experience health and wellness through a number of means.
As a cancer survivor, entrepreneur and business owner, wife and mother, she is dedicated to inspiring anyone to master the art of goal-setting, implementing a successful personal strategy and the ability to unleash their full potential.
At the event, Morris expressed the importance of changing one's mindset in order to achieve different results in any area.
"If you want different results, you have to do things differently," she said. She encouraged the ladies to start dreaming again, to write the dreams down as short-term goals and to formulate a strategy for getting into action to achieve that dream.
Attendees also welcomed testimonies from women who have worked with Morris on this programme as well as the eight-week Mental and Physical Transformation programme that she runs in cooperation with local gyms.
Morris said the previous year was one that may have had some negative effects on people's mindsets and confidence. "Because of the pandemic people had to stay at home and not go out as much, so they didn't necessarily feel the need or inspiration to 'look good' per se," she said.
"People didn't need to do their make-up or groom themselves for work anymore, because it was just a simple Zoom call away."
She said people need to become empowered and equipped to face life's challenges with a clear vision, boldness, and authority in order to become the person they want to be. "It starts when you imagine yourself as the best self, and set a goal to ultimately be the person you admire," she said.
The event, hosted at Blend Country Restaurant, included a modelling show presented by Zanele Thwala, manageress at Rair Boutique, and a presentation by Pieter Stals, pharmacist and developer of Restion SkinCare Products, along with wonderful prizes and lucky draws.
The ladies enjoyed good food, champagne and lots of laughter as they de-stressed and made new acquaintances.
This was the first of a series of events, with the next date set for Women's Day on 9 August.
