KNYSNA NEWS - The body of 51-year-old Cedric Pasja was found in the Kareedouw River area in the Eastern Cape after the man was reported missing following his fall into the ocean while fishing at Noetzie Beach on 16 August last year.
Search-and-rescue teams were dispatched for six days before the operation was called off at sunset on 21 August.
It is reported that Pasja's body washed up a days later but positive forensic results were only received recently.
Knysna police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said DNA was taken from his family and Pasja's DNA was found to be a positive match.
"We extend our condolences as the Knysna SAPS, the deceased was a member of the Hornlee Neighbourhood Watch at the time of his disappearance."
To celebrate Pasja's life there was a memorial service at Hornlee Civic Centre on Thursday 15 May.
The family decided not to have an official burial but a cremation.
