KNYSNA NEWS - Plumes of smoke will be visible in the Knysna area today and tomorrow.
The Southern Cape Fire Protection Association (SCFPA) together with Working on Fire (WoF), the Knysna municipality and South African National Parks (SANParks) are conducting an ecological burn.
Approximately 71 hectares on the Southern slopes along the Brenton-on-sea Road are set to burn which includes Portions 39 and 40 of the Uitzigt Farm.
These fires are to burn fynbos which has not been burnt for 30 years and which is essential to its wellbeing.
The Southern Cape Fire Protection Association with partners including Southern Cape Fire Protection Association (FPA), SANParks, Knysna municipal fire Services, Working on Fire, Eden District fire services, PG Bison, Cape Nature, and the landowners are all involved in this burn.
