PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Men in Bitou are standing together to build a better society with the launch of the Bitou Men's Sector last week.
Bitou Mayor Dave Swart and Speaker Claude Terblanche launched the initiative on Friday 8 April at the Piesang Valley Hall.
During the launch a structure was elected and members vowed to coordinate activities and programmes associated with campaigns around building men who care about society, about fighting gender-based violence, edu-cating boys about becoming adults and other programmes related to creating safer, prosperous and attractive communities.
Swart and his counterpart from the Garden Route District Municipality, Memory Booysen, pledged their support to the initiative and Terblanche was elected as one of five additional members - over and above the chair, deputy chair, secretary, deputy secretary and resource mobiliser.
