KNYSNA NEWS FLASH - The Rheenendal Community Hall and Rheenedal Library have been transformed as part of an effort to change the face of this community.
An art project initiated by Councillor Eleanore Bouw-Spies is the first step in achieving this.
"We approached artists to start art classes for the community. The community expressed a need to utilise the community hall and for projects that can help keep children busy after school hours. This idea was embraced with enthusiasm and we approached two local artists. We then realised we will have to do something to inspire the youth, and artists Rochelle Phillips and Carlyle Lodewyk with assistant Aaron Terblanche captivated our imagination with their ideas."
Bouw-Spies says the theme was Africa and the celebration of living in South Africa.
